Help jellybean on Samsung Infuse 4G

I am using an infuse 4G with Jellybean installed.

It seems to be working fine except for a couple of minor issues, might be due to me being a noob to Android devices tho.

I didn't see anyone talking about jb on the infuse so I started this thread.

(1) I can't seem to find any jb help for the infuse, closest thing i find is jb for nexus but the phone layout is slightly different I suspect.

(2) I have a bit of a twitch occasionally when I use the stock video recorder. I could probably fix this with a backup and factory reset, but wondering if there is an easier way.

(3) looking for a way to transfer files via usb. Found "android sync manager wifi" in the market for free and that seems to work well enough.

Anyone have any tips for this phone to exploit it's capabilities or anyone found any bugs?

Hi Gary, welcome to AF. :)

Usually a factory reset eliminates bugs after a software update, but I don't know of an easier way than that. I'm sure the members here might know. :)
 
The problems are are experiencing are a the result of the ROM. Cyanogenmod isn't 100%. The issues you are having is because its a custom rom that is still in active development.

They havent released a stable version yet.

I got the phone from a friend who had rooted und upgraded the Rom. I am not a tech mind but I am sure someone on this forum can direct you on the upgrade.

Current issues on Infuse running JB OS:

Face unlock doesn't work
Maps are very slow to load, especially when other apps are open
Occasionally gallery force closes

For the most part, no major problems. I can live without the face unlock. The Maps load eventually. And If Gallery closes I can reopen it. I am guessing due to an overload on system resources...

A daily reboot seems to help.

I have no prior experience with Android before getting this phone so I can't comment on performance relative to prior OS versions.
 
I cant seem to get a mobile network for ATT so I cant make calls. Also, how do you update the time using Jelly Bean on an Infuse? I have the wrong time set but cannot figure out how to change it. Sorry but Im a bit of a newb unfortunately.

PS - The time is syncing fine. Just no mobile network...anyone have any ideas?

So, I'm running CM10 on my Infuse (from that link), and I experience more lag than I would like. Launching apps, switching tasks, doing almost anything takes just slightly more time than I am comfortable with. That and, the 720p recording is a known issue, and I suffer from occasional random shutdowns and reboots.

I thought about going back down to Gingerbread, and that wouldn't bother me too much... but I'm wondering if anyone has tried one of the lighter/smoother Jelly Bean ROMs like Slim Bean or LiquidSmooth? Are they better?

Oh, and the process to load CM10 from stock was pretty convoluted. It took most of an afternoon, and I had to use the Odin tool to recover back to stock from an unbootable state a few times. It's not for the squeamish.
