Jorte problems... any good calendar app?

I've got Jorte (v.1.3.7) and like the looks of it, but am having too much trouble with it to keep using it. Main problem: if I add an event to Jorte, it will not sync it with my Google calendar. If I add an event to my Google calendar, then it *may* sync it to Jorte.

I went to the Jorte website to see if I could get some help but there are big problems. First, it asks for "country" but England or Great Britain or United Kingdom are not recognized. The number of spelling errors and strange terms make it very difficult to navigate.

I just want a nice calendar app for my Galaxy S2 that will coordinate or sync with my Google calendar.... is that so difficult to find?

Any advice would be most appreciated.
 
Odd, Jorte has been working great for me. Was your default calandar set to be your Google account? Also, sometimes App behavior can be fixed by clearing the data / cache on the app. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Jorte > Clear data
 
I use Touch Calendar and it works perfectly. The developer is very responsive to questions (and he may be British).
 
I've been using personal assistant and like it a lot better than jorte. the overall look and functionality seems much easier to use. Only thing is no widgets on it. I got pure calendar widget though and use that for the widget and it works great!
 
you're doing it wrong. Jorte works great and it is the best calendar app bar none IMO. but you have to make sure you select "sync with Google Calendar" in the Jorte settings.

the Jorte 4x4 widget is the best.

Jorte WAS working for at least a month and I had no complaints. The synch worked fine. Then it just started acting up. I've noticed when I go to the Jorte app home, that others have had problems, too, apparently since the last Jorte update. I would assume the developers are aware of any problems, but can't see any acknowledgement.

Thanks for ALL the replies, but I'm a bit dense and new to all this. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S2.

What is a "widget" as opposed to an "app"? And where do you go to get the widget?
 
When I have an notation about a meeting and is trying to ad information the whole app often crashes, and when I start Jorte again everything about this meeting is gone, BOTH OLD AND NEW INFORMATION :(. This can sometimes be a CATASTROPHE, as you might not remember urgent data you added months ago!

What is it exactly that you don't like about the stock calendar? Using that, in coordination with Astrid and the Android Agenda as the unifying interface (I can add astrid and calendar events on the Android Agenda Widget). The stock calendar will definitely sync to Google.
