Help Jpg's not showing now

As of last night it was working but starting today i cant see jpegs attached to emails. When I click open the attachment in an email through both K9 and gmail itself, all I get it a black screen and lightning bolt pointing towards a little guy.

any idea of what this is or do I need to show a picture or explain more. looked on google for answers but cant find anything

Please I would like this figured out if anyone has a clue why it started doing this with pictures from emails. frustrating!
