Juice defender: Connectivity and schedule problems

Fornside

Lurker
Hello everyone, my first post, although from my many visits here i know this is a great place to get help, so anyway...

My problem is in two parts and stems from my desired specifactions for how i want juice defender to run my phone, i want all connecticity to be disabled, all the time, untill i open an app that i have configured internet acces for, aditionally i want juice defended to sync everything every half an hour

1:
Juice defender seems unable to dissable connectivity (Red circle att he top) it always stays green, as if a force enabled app is running, i go to the task manager and theres nothing there, and so juice defender never disables connectivity because of some phantom app, any ideas whats going on here?

2:
Simple problem, the schedule doesnt work, perhaps its something im doing wrong but to sync my email i have to go into the email app and do it
manually, juice defender doesnt enable connectivity every half hour like i want and sync my stuff, just does nothing :-/

I have JD ultimate

Thanks in advance, Fornside

I'm new to Juice Defender so I'm only just getting to grips with it.

I have it set to disable mobile network connectivity upon screen lock and re-launch it when I come out of the lock screen (and/or check for updates every 30 minutes if still locked). I know that it's working because the 3G arrows and the 3G Watchdog notification in the taskbar always take a second or so to appear when I exit lock screen. Is this way no good for you?

i tried doing it that way as well but even with the screen locked the connectivity stays enabled, although i think i've fixed it now, pulling down the status bar and looking at juice defender there i saw, for some odd reason, that "voice search" was keeping the connectivity enabled, it wasnt present in the currently running apps section of task manager, and stranger still i have NEVER used this function of my phone before, not once so im baffled as to why it was behaving like this, anyway that problem is solved

After hours of tinkering i found the answer to my second problem, the scedule WOULD run if i kept the screen on all the time, but not when it was locked, this is when i realised that i had widget locker, configured to disable connectivity, after configuring juice defender to "do nothing" when widget locker ran this problem was solved as well, so now juice defender is doing exactly what i want it too

So in the end i figured the problems out myself but thanks all for the views and old bakes for your suggestion, seems one bad thing about JD that its so complicated it can be confusing :-/

JD asks if you want to override apps that want full control of connectivity. There is a lot of information in JD and sometimes it can be hard to decipher.
