Juicedefender.....is it safe?

I'm considering installing Juicedefender but I'm not so thrilled with the amount of 'Permissions' that it wants, I just don't see the need and wonder if it is a safe App?

Any comments welcome.

You should also check out Green Power on the Android Market. It's similar to Juice Defender, and I've found it easier to use. Plus if needs less permissions compared to Juice Defender.

Green power keeps my WiFi turned on all the time, so it saves less than Juice Defender. If I turn off WiFi management, the app closes my connection when I tether and the screen is off, so no go for me.

But Is there any advantage of using Juicedefender? I had tried it in my Samsung phone - I did not find it useful & uninstalled.

Gave me an extra 5-7 hours battery life. Then again, its useful only if you have mobile data turned on. If I have that off, my phone's battery life would double.

JD and other apps help turn the lights off when nobody's in the room. You could do it yourself, but why bother? I have JD+, Otimus S.
