Help Jumbled home screen (ADW launcher)

Doit2it

Android Expert
Running GB .596 rooted (2 part method) with ADW launcher.

Has anyone else seen or know how to fix this. It's happened 3 or 4 times since the GB update. When I come out of a sleep, the bottom half of the screen is blank. Then as I navigate around the home screens, parts of them become stuck on the screen. If I enter an app, everything is fine in the app, but when I return to the home screen the problem is still there. A reboot fixes the issue. I just wondered if anyone knows a fix or has seen this. I haven't tried deleting and reinstalling ADW, but I will soon.

I just did the uninstall / reinstall of ADW Launcher. As I stated, it only occurs about once a week so only time will tell.

That was a pain! After the reinstall I had to reboot later that day. When the DX booted up, I was in a FC loop with ADW. I could not get to the home screen. I could double click the Home button and get into Maps, and I could get into Handsent or Gmail if I had a notification, but no home screen cause of the FC messages. The Menu button wouldn't work cause the home screen wasn't open. Tried rebooting a couple of times, no help.

When I got home, I put the DX in my desk dock. Luckily I have a link to my Apps Organizer folders on the desk dock screen. I was able to get into Settings, delete ADW's data and uninstall. Reinstalled ADW after a reboot and no problems so far.

I know I could have done a SBF to Froyo and upgraded back to GB rooted if this failed. Glad I didn't have to thou.

Well the jumbled screen just happened again. I did find out if I restart ADW (Menu / ADW Settings / Restart ADW) it will fix the issue. Must be an issue with ADW and GB. I'll send the developer an email and see what they say.

Emailing is not a bad idea. I've never experienced it myself, so I don't have any other suggestions besides trying another launcher. BTW, are you rooted and running a custom ROM? If you are, you could also try ADW on a different ROM
