Help Jumps to top of messages thread while landscape

Using a t-mobile htc one s running 4.1 (not rooted). Having a minor issue that I'll try to explain the best as I can. At the lock screen if there is a text message shown and I turn my phone landscape and proceed to drag the message into the circle at the bottom, when the message thread loads it will jump to the very top of the thread rather than showing the bottom where the most recent text is. If there is a text message at the lock screen and I drag it while the phone is still portrait it will be at the bottom of the thread like it should be. I'd say it jumps to the top when I unlock it landscape about 90% of the time. Is there anyway to fix this? Thanks so much.

Having the same issue, try to back-up your messages and delete data/cache from messaging app then restore, if that does not work, open keyboard and then put in landscape.
