June 22nd for 2.2 Froyo?

HTC rep's have had a track record of giving inaccurate dates so I wouldn't put too many eggs in this basket. And since the person talking to the rep was asking directly about his/her Desire, that does not necessarily mean it'll be the same for us.

it's not just HTC that has to release it, it's Verizon that has to accept it and then release it. If it comes out June 22nd, we won't see it then (for official loading that is).

No there will be all these posts a week or so before saying that it should have been released early and how they got left out lol

Verizon wont have to approve anything if we have root by then. :)
 
Why do people think that root will solve everything? I mean it will allow us to do some things but don't expect the (freelance) developers to fix all the bugs on their own. Its going to take a leaked version to surface before its cooked into a rom. A port from the nexus one is not going to work as is, its going too need some tlc and lots of beta testing. Even the leaks were created by HTC, its their device, they know more than all of us combined and then some.
 
I'll believe a release date for Froyo for the Incredible when it is on my phone, and not a day sooner. Remember how long it took the Droid to get 2.1? And that is Vanilla Android, not Sense, which was out in January.
 
It's going to depend on if they can get it out with minimal bugs/problems then it will come out quicker but if they continue to run into problems such as with 2.1 for the droid then it will get delayed and pushed back
 
If anyone seriously believes that June 22 claim, they will have only themselves to blame when they get disappointed next month.

but with Root, couldnt a NON sense ui 2.2 rom be loaded?
 
Well, even if the release date is wrong and even if they are talking about the Desire, this is good news for us as well. After releasing the update for the Desire it could not take long at all to release it for us incredible owners, that is if vzw decide to release the update soon.
