June 6th preorder for S3 on Verizon

So, I am going to get the Samsung Galaxy 3 on Verizon. I want to pre order it on June 6th as well. I have never done a pre order before and was wondering if you could preorder at a store or is preorders were only done online. If you have preordered before, did your device arrive day of launch?

I live in a an apartment and some times shipping companies don't even bother dropping stuff off, they just say "weren't available for delivery". I just want to get it on launch day.

I believe pre-orders are ONLY online. Per the official Verizon PR:
Samsung Galaxy S III will be available online for pre-order starting June 6 at 7 a.m. ET at www.verizonwireless.com/galaxys3 and will be available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online in the coming weeks.

Verizon's preferred shipping company is FedEx. Verizon ships ALL their phones with an Indirect Signature Required. This means either you have to be home to sign for the shipment, you can leave a signed, dated note asking FedEx to leave the shipment, a neighbor can sign, or the apartment office can sign. Leave the signed, dated note where the FedEx driver can take it with them. They will not leave the shipment if they can not take the note (locked inside a storm door, etc.)

Talked to a VZW csr today that said pre-orders can be done via phone and in store. Take it for whats its worth..

anyone know if they are accepting preorders at BestBuy? I have that $50 off an ungrade from a few months back. I was hoping to use it on the S3.

It would be a bad move either way consider Sprint and a few other carriers will beat them by two weeks. That plus VZW's recent stupid PR moves may be enough to send people to other carriers. Hopefully they will release the same time as everyone else, around the 20th of June.
Eh, I think anybody that switches carriers just so they can get the SGS3 two weeks earlier is an idiot. :p

If somebody wants to switch for other reasons, it's not a big deal if they stay with Verizon for two weeks less.

Just got my preorder paperwork. Best buy is saying June 28th. They said an anouncement is planned for the 12. Who knows if they know what they r talking about

Best buy insisted the Nexus was the Nexus Prime almost all the way until release :p

I will still go talk to Best Buy first. I want to know if there is any advantage (esp on price) by pre-ordering through them. If there is no advantage, I will pre-ordering on the Verizon web site.

Only reason I went with BB was that I had registered my phone for thier phone freedom discount and got $50 off. No real "advantage" to ordering with BB. Its gonna be the same phone for the same price. Only disadvantage is they are going to have less stock then a real VZW store or online.

Just a quick question when you pre-order online if you have a discount when does it show up before you add it to your cart or after. TIA

No discounts online. Call Verizon to use any NE2 you may have left or corporate discounts. At least that seems to be the way it played out yesterday in the GS3 forum.
