I am deciding to switch from tmobile to Verizon just because friends who have verizon have 3x coverage then i do. I am going to miss my discount for 25% off though :(
I am going to use my father's old incredible and either get the Htc Pro 7
or the Thunderbolt or Bionic The one thing that is making me wary about android is hotmail(haven't found a good way to use this) and also there is an annoyance with the mytouch 4g.
Whenever i receive a picture, I get an error message. It downloads the picture but then says something about force closing due to mms.android.com or something like that.
I was trying to send my friend a picture of myself just now and it did it. It does it everytime. Is the something specific to the mytouch or would i experience this on the Incredible and with any future android phones?
 
You can experience any issue on any phone no matter who makes it or what operating system it uses. Most people never have any issues with the phone. I personally use hotmail on my phone and don't have any problems with it.
 
No, I guess what i am asking is

1)Has anyone here had issues when receiving a picture message, they get a force close/error message each time?

2)How to get push hotmail? I am using maildroid and while good, it isnt push

I'm sure people have had issues/force closes receiving picture messages before, but it's not a common issue and can be resolved easily. I personally have never had a problem and neither has most people, but no one can say for sure that you will never have any issues, just like with any phone.

2) I'm not aware of any way to have hotmail through push, but I've never looked into it. I just have it set to sync every hour.

1) Back up your files, and factory reset your phone. It is not normal for it to do that.

2) Buying an Android phone will require you to make a GMail account, so have your hotmail pushed to your GMail and you will have your hotmail mail in your GMail.. In the GMail app it will allow you to see all your email (hotmail + gmail) or either or.. you can change what you want to see interchangeably with just 2 screen selections .

You SHOULD be able to do it with the stock HTC mail app. It generally does a good job with exchange based (ie push) services. Try reading the help page, and just go through the mail account setup in the stock app making sure it's set like this, and you should be good.
 
Just ported the number from tmobile to verizon and activated the incredible. This phone DEFINITELY takes great pictures. I thought it was 5 megapixels like the mytouch.Time to do some facebook potraits :D

And I don't use exchange or anything. I use the regular hotmail/live mail.
I will try the gmail way i guess

THE Htc mail app has it's limit set at 15 minutes or higher and maildroid does it every 5 minutes.....
 
Mikayla- as was said, just set up a Gmail acct, and send your hotmail thru it. You can set it up so that no one ever sees or knows your Gmail address (Even when you send a fresh email), and you just have your new Gmail pushed to your phone.

And for texting, I always use Handcent, including mms, and I never get a force close. Ever. And its very customizeable.

well i have hotmail because that is what my teacher/school uses and everything :(
But the gmail thing seems to be working thus far.

On a brighter note, I am happy that in my house I have 4 bars with my incredible vs the wi-fi calling induced signal on mytouch lol
