my phone will not update to ICS which suxs, cause my phone was new when i got it, not refurnished and i dont want to trade it for a refurbi !

when i go to check updates using either wifi or 4g, i can see communication between the phone and verizon but the data transfer and just stops. it will stay like this unitl the battery dies if i let it.

should i do a factory reset or just hold on for the update message?

Before you do a factory reset, there's something you can try to see if that helps you get the update. It's clearing the local cache of an app on the phone, but I don't remember which app it was. Hopefully someone else will chime in with the name of the app.

If you don't mind a factory reset, go ahead and do it. It certainly can't hurt.

i believe it is Google Services Framework. but i would wait for someone else to chime in to verify

you will not believe this but after doing a force stop on google services, i immediately got the UPDATE notice!!!

thank you so much, it was LONELY not having ICS !!!
