Help Just bought the Samsung Intercept-- does it not have android 2.2???

My phone swears it is up to date at 2.1 but I was under the impression that intercept got 2.2 way back in april?

Why and how the freak to I kill 2.1 dead? I'm so frustrated, I have the optimus v with 2.2 and it's SO MUCH BETTER this interface sucks.

My question is-- am I right that 2.2 for the intercept was released? If I am, can anyone tell me how to get my phone to realise that?

Yes. Assuming you're in the U.S., the current version with Virgin Mobile is 2.2.2.

When you did a Settings > About Phone > System Updates, the phone did have internet access at that time, right?

You can download the update file and manually load it to the phone and then update. Look here:

I just purchased an Intercept yesterday. Off the shelf, it came with 2.2.2. Now I am waiting (somewhat patiently) for my old Tracfone number to port to it.
