Help Just done a factory reset

To try and sort the constant reboot problem I had. That's fixed now. However I'm surprised that all the music and stuff that was on my internal SD card is still there. I thought it went back to the state it was in when I purchased the phone.. Is this normal? Or did it not work?
Lost all my apps that I'd downloaded.

I guess so. Still surprised that it didn't wipe the internal SD card of all the added stuff.

Even I have done a factory reset today and I can assure you that all the apps get deleted and settings etc are restored to default but files on internal memory are saved.

Though even I was bit surprised to find that but if you read carefully while doing a factory reset it mentions that all your settings etc will be deleted but files on internal memory card and current software version wont be deleted.
