just got a mytouch..stuck on welcome screen?

i just got a mytouch 3g and i can't get past the lockscreen? the previous owner did a factory reset and said its on froyo. sliding my finger on the screen, pressing any of the buttons, or pressing the trackball doesn't do anything.

I tried the menu path method, but Factory Data Reset is not listed as an option.

Next I tried the keystroke method. I get it to the warning screen where I can select "wipe data/factory reset," but nothing happens. I select the menu item and click or double click on the trackball, but nothing happens. I also tried tapping on the menu item, and all the other physical buttons, but nothing happens. In fact, "reboot system now" doesn't work and neither do any of the other menu choices.

Edit: Never mind. I finally found it under Settings > Privacy, so I was able to use the menu method. Never did figure out the keystroke method.
