Help just got a note 3..how do I use the s pen?

So I just picked up a note 3 today after my galaxy s4 was stolen a few days back and was wondering how I use the s pen on it? I've pulled it out ( ) and had the options it gives you come up, but when I push the pen against them it does nothing. Clicking the little button on the pen does nothing either. I am curious to know if I need any functions turned on or something in order for it to work. Some help would be awesome here... even though this is a feature I honestly don't think I'll ever use on this phone.

For the button on the pen to work you have to have the tip close enough to the screen for a small reticle dot to hover on the UI, then hold the button until the Air Command pie comes up. After that, hover until the option you want is highlighted on it, and the name for that function will display inside the middle. For example, to open an app via Pen Window, hold the S-pen tip close enough for the reticle to show, then push and hold the button on the pen, wait for Air Command to display, hover over the last and lower right option until it highlights, should say 'pen window', tap the option, draw a border for the preferred size, choose an app from the list that comes up, and enjoy.

The S-pen operates otherwise like an old stylus from a Palm Pilot. My primary use for it is to avoid annoying fingerprint smudges from touching the screen with my fingers.

Idk what's wrong. Where r I try to select any option with it nothing happens. Maybe my stylist is messed up?

Can you click or open apps with it?

No. I'm just curious, is there supposed to be a little rubber tip or something at the end of it?

Yes, and Samsung sells replacement tips

Doesn't on mine. I'm guessing that's it. What could I put on the end to make it work right ? Easy fix?

If you had bought the phone new I'm sure that there should be a tip in the S-pen. Samsung could'nt have delivered one without it.
Otherwise, go back to where you bought it from and ask them about it.

Does your S-pen look like this with the tip? Also the phone comes with extra tips for the S-pen. If yours is missing then like Realme said go back to where you purchased it or order some tips (or a new S-pen) and you should be back in action with the S-pen.

Go into settings then controls, make sure 'air view' and 'Air command' are checked.
