Help Just got an Ace, what to get/do first?

Hey all, new here and new to android - what do I get first? Do I need to update the OS, any app recommendations or links, where do I find the free google GPS app, anything at all would help, thanks!

You get the Google Map app from android market on your phone or on line
Don't forget Google maps only work if you have a data connection if not on a data plan will cost you a fortune

There are downloadable maps but no gps only navigation

The only Free GPS with no data connection is on Nokia Phones Ovi maps

Thanks - how do I assign unassigned contacts to the main contact list? My gmail brought over about 500 unassigned ones.
