just got mine

Just got my maxx, I went to the Verizon store today and looked at all the other top phones, g2, one, sg4, even the note 3..... maybe I'm just a moto fan boy but even with their 1080 screens and quad core processors,... The maxx just blew them away. I think more than anything it's their ui.... it's way too cartoon looking for me. the one had the only look even comparable but I was maxx all the way. I know the quadrant score was a bit lower but that's only one standard of measurement.... Nothing can tell you what feels better and this phone rocks!!!

Synthetic benchmarks tell very little of the story when it comes to use experience. Motorola understands this very well.

I had an S3, now got the Maxx. To quote Motorola - Droid Does.

It's not as slick, bright, fancy or sexy - it just simply 'does'. Feels firm, responds well, and has a few neat tricks. It seems less gimmicky (yes, the Note and G2 has some cool tricks too). It works just like I want my toys to work - simply and efficiently.

I'm usually by a power outlet or have my car charger, so I thought that the big battery was no big deal. Wrong! I love being able to take my phone with me in the morning and not have to think about how much I surf the web or stream music, without even having to think twice about having to charge it.

Much agreed, first full day, heavy heavy use, unplugged since 6am. Been streaming Google music, Pandora, I heart radio on and off all day, two hours on the road playing music to the car via Bluetooth, about an hour of YouTube using chrome cast..... surfing on and off. Still only down to 41%. Now I was never seeking to have two full days out of the battery.... I knew better as soon as I saw "mixed usage" in their claims, but to more than get through an entire day of work and home usage without even thinking about charging.... My RAZR HD only got me until about 6pm. I love this phone and almost stock android kicks ass!

My GF criticized my new purchase for not looking much different from my old RAZR M. She said it doesn't feel enough like a new phone, because the OS still looks the same. She was not impressed to say the least. But she doesn't get it.

What good is a smart phone if you can't use it (cuz the battery ran out)? The battery on her iphone 5S constantly runs out because she uses it so much. I also use my phone a lot, and now I can LITERALLY use it all day.

I agree that I'm not expecting nor need the advertised 2-day battery life, because 24-hours (at least) of heavy use is well worth it.

So when her iphone runs out of juice, and my Droid MAXX is still going strong, I'd like to say, "so where's your fancy good looking phone now? mine still works." But of course I shouldn't say that. :D

I've seen posts about the Nexus 5 battery life where people who own the phone complain about the phone's reputation for short battery life. They'll show a screen shot showing 12 hours of use - granted, it's pretty heavy use - with less than 15% battery life left. "Isn't that great?" they ask.

No, it's not. It's why I bought the Maxx - big battery, fast phone, very light OEM customizations that are very useful (active notifications, assist driving support, touchless control, twist to start camera). It's not a perfect phone, but it is better than good enough, that's for sure.

I'm glad that they like their phone, for their sake, but I want a great smartphone that has no worry about battery life at all. Anything less is not good enough.

I wouldn't mean to offend an iPhone owner but they are boring.... It's a smooth running device, but the maxx destroys it in my mind.... and yeah, I can run my phone all day. Usually it's sg3/4 owners around me that have dying batteries. Maxx rules!

I "borrowed" a brand new iPhone 5s from Verizon (14 day trial period) while waiting for moto to mail me a refurbished Razr after mine crashed. I thought maybe I'd love the phone, after all, I'm Mac in every other way. I'm even building a Hackintosh for more power in film editing. But after 4 days with it I walked back in the store and returned the iPhone for the Maxx! My daughter thinks I'm crazy, however she's the one that always has her phone plugged in!

I'll recoup the $100 on selling the refurbished Razr HD on Amazon.

The BEST Android phone I have ever owned. You will really enjoy it.

If you have not tried Nova Launcher Prime I also suggest you try it. The free version doesn't have some of the nifty features of the $4 version.

Same here. First computer I ever worked on was a IIe and I helped layout the school newspaper on a Mac+. (only the teacher was allowed on the Mac SE...) I've built many hackintoshes and currently run OSX on my Lenovo laptop. I even own an iPad2. But nothing, NOTHING has convinced me yet to move away from the android platform and the MAXX with its amazing battery life has only reinforced that feeling.
