Just got my OTA for lollipop

Problems already :(

1.Constant notification in the notification bar saying it needs to be updated, but only options when I go to update are open or deactivate.

2. Youtube crashes while using my chromecast.

3. MMS not working (I'm on Straight Talk)

4. Sporadic signal strength.

So far I've have seen a performance boost. Battery I've haven't seen a change at all. Still no problems with anything yet.

Prior to Lollipop, apps compiled as you loaded them, and stayed that way while they were in memory.

With Lollipop, apps compile once and are saved that way.

If an app is small or your phone is fast enough, you won't notice the compiler time.

Most Lollipop claims of improved speed are just a placebo effect.

However, over time, you may notice other improvements as apps gain more standardization.

Updated my Moto G on 23rd Jan 2015 and this is my first impressions after using it for a day. When I recently shifted from a Samsung Galaxy Grand i9082 to a Moto G running first on Kitkat and now on Lollipop. I was a bit disappointed when I found that there is no ‘Group’ field in contacts. Another strange thing I noticed is concerning the group field in contacts, is that this option is available in my Nexus 7 (2012) but not in my Moto G 2nd edition both running ‘Lollipop’. Strange as I thought both ran on stock Android.
Also I have been used to having an option of saving birthdays & anniversary details in contacts now I find that I can no longer do this. What a shame. Having details like birthday/anniversary details in contacts has been in ALL my phone I have used since 1998.

I find no change I battery life after using for a day.

Ram management has gotten better it seems that art using less memory then delvik. I checked my memory usage and I'm running a few apps in background and still have memory left over. Before I would only have about 200-33mb of ram left over.

After my initial post #11, some more feedback. After a month of use of my Moto G, this is my feedback, at the outset I not one of those who can be considered a ‘power user’ nor am I one who wants to stay ‘always connected ‘. There are times when I prefer solitary confinement. Nor am I one who like to store contacts/reminders on the cloud. I rather take responsibility for keeping my data backup safe. Nor do I need to access my data from ‘anywhere’. I updated my Moto G on 23rd Jan 2015. When I recently shifted from a Samsung Galaxy Grand i9082 to a Moto G running first on Kitkat and now on Lollipop. I was disappointed when I found that there is no ‘Group’ field in contacts. Another strange thing I noticed is concerning the group field in contacts, is available in my Nexus 7 WiFi only (2012) but not in my Moto G 2nd edition both running ‘Lollipop’. Strange as I thought both ran on stock Android AND my Nexus is the WiFi only version so why does this appear in the N7 & not in the moto G which is a phone!!!
Also I have been used to having an option of saving birthdays & anniversary details in contacts now I find that I can no longer do this. What a shame. Having details like birthday/anniversary details in contacts has been in ALL my phone I have used since 1998. Is this done so that users are forced to use some other google facility?

Another shocker is that when I put on my wifi its icon in the notification area comes with an exclamation mark, even though it works fine. AND when I switch off wifi this exclamation shifts to the BOTH icons of the two sims I use. But this disappears after some time (I am referring to the mark on the sim icon only)

When I restart the phone some of the apps installed in the sd card disappear & I have to bring them on to the home screen manually. I could understand if ALL icons of apps on sd card disappeared but why only some.

Another shocker was that after updating to Lollipop I lost ALL my calendar entries, I have updated many android phones in the past in their different avatars but this has never happened to me. It’s my luck that I take backups before doing any updates that saved the day for me.

I find no change I battery life after using for a day. It might last a day 3G on for 14hrs AND NO calls. Can hardly call that inspiring.

I am truly unhappy with this phones AND REGRETTING buying a Moto phone. Before someone suggests that I should have gone in for a ‘X’ instead of a ‘G’ all I can say is thank God I didn’t waste more money. I bought this as I wanted to experience pure Android but this has been a real bummer for me to an extent that I might not buy another Moto phone or a so called 'pure android' phone or recommend it to anyone. Very disappointed in just a month of use

This is today's story :eek::mad::mad:

I did a factory reset for a second time (the first occasion was when I updated to ‘Lollipop’). Things have only got worse now.

When I restored the contacts,

I found unrelated contacts had merged. When I tried to delete ALL contacts – such an option does not exist (at least for me), so I deleted all contacts via MPE (MyPhoneExplorer) and restored the .vcf file which I had made before the lollipop update. So I seem to have got all my contacts in their pristine state.

I remember that for a brief moment after the first factory reset the group was visible then it disappeared and was not visible after the factory reset today.

Now I also find that I CANNOT EDIT ANY contact in the phone AT ALL. Workaround for this I switched on ‘contacts sync’, let it sync then switched it off again. Now I can edit the contacts as of now. God only knows what other shocks are in store. I cannot seem to do much of the so called customizing with getting tied into knots. What a shame.

Wow I guess I'm the only one not having problems I'm lucky.
OK I take it back I finely encountered a problem. Its the sound I've noticed that when I turn the volume up it says it at max lvl but it really isn't. I have to keep pressing the volume up till I hear the volume sound get loud even when the phone tells me the phone is on max volume. Not sure if its the lollipop or not.
