Root Just Got the LG Spectrum

I just got the Spectrum on verizon, i like it so far. i had the HTC Incredible which i rooted and used CM7 on. Before i went through a pushed downgrade to get s-off to put CM7 on it i used it rooted with the stock software and removed some bloatware... the only side effect i noticed was the camera froze.

I am thinking about rooting my LG Spectrum but i am concerned of side effects. i plan on sticking with the stock software and removing some bloatware and changing CPU settings to extend battery life. anyone noticed side effects of rooting and using stock software?

Had no ill side effects to rooting when i was running the stock os. The difference rooting and freezing makes is amazing. Welcome to the community and enjoy

There are no side effects to rooting itself. There are, however, issues if you remove apps from stock and try to take an OTA update. So root and freeze apps and you'll love your phone even more.

well i just rooted my phone... what apps would you guys recommend to freeze/uninstall apps also looking for a way to control the cpu... my htc with cm7 had it built in...

There are a few apps that are good for controlling the cpu, but no frills is a great free option. There's another thread that has a lot pretty comprehensive list of apps you can freeze with no problems... It's older, so scroll back a Page or so.
