Just got the S5 have some questions

I just got the device im coming from an HTC DNA this is my first Samsung phone for myself i have played with my girlfriends S4 and my dads S3 before though

With the camera when i take a picture it says "Hold the device steady until it finishes taking the picture" this seems very annoying why doesn't it just take the picture, sometime it does but more often then not thats the message i get i want it to be quick not have to wait 5-8 seconds or whatever it is

On my old android phones i use to be able to create a shortcut of battery status in the settings where if i click that i would get a few details including how long my device has been unplugged, is there anyway to get that shortcut on the S5?

This was also my first time upgrading through Best Buy, i know i have 30 days to exchange is that 30 days from the order date or 30 days from receiving the phone in the mail?

Who provides the best mobile insurance? and how long do i have to add it?

These are my questions for now im sure i will stumble into more as i have only been playing with it for a few hours now

The camera is a bit slower than we like, but it makes up for that in being super sharp and has variable focus capability.

here is a super fast get to know the S5 article:
50 Galaxy S5 Tips, Tricks and Hidden Features

Before you crap all over your new toy, you want to make a backup to your PC.
Do that now, and again after you have configured it a bit. Then again as you get more familiar and have it "fine tuned".

Then when you have it all setup the way you want it, and now you think "why is the battery draining so fast?", read through this thread for tips on how to make that battery last days, not hours.

Battery Draining Quickly I tell them how to fix it

Off topic, but that quote above is almost exactly what I said at the top of my CorvetteC3.com forum when I owned/ran it for 10 years.

I added to the end of that ...."and don't worry if your question has been posted before." Most forums hate that, but it drives away a lot of newbies that don't know how to search yet.

Not only that, berating of newbies is not welcomed in these particular forums, kinda something we have become known for. We have special modified hellfire missles for those that can't help themselves. :smokingsomb:

That said, iamloco has been around to see that being a member here since 2009.

Check to see in you camera menu if you have auto stabalization activated for the still camera. It's actually a circuit that (greatly) improves and enhances shots taken in low light. You don't need it in regular light but in low light it's a complete game changer. With this activated the camera essentially merges multiple shots to create one well-lit night shot.

For this you have to hold the phone very steady for a few seconds. Disengage this and you'll see that the camera is lightening fast.

Hope this helps.

For the battery shortcut, there might be a native way to do it, but I use an app called Battery Solo that gives you a 1x1 widget that serves as a shortcut to the battery stats page.
