Just got the Verizon OTA .

I had a pop up that said there is an update available and there was an "OK" that I could tap to start the update. I tapped the back arrow because I did not want it and the pop up went away.

That's where mine started too, but I went ahead with the upgrade as I figure they will force it at some point anyway.

Hey for those who have gotten the update did you experience bad battery drainage right afterwards....? Thats all.. if not many have then ill post my problem in a new thread.

I never had the choice to accept this update. Just had a notice this morning that my phone was updated. Universal search is now gone.

Same here. I called Verizon to complain. I feel it should be my choice if I want to install something on my device not Verizon's

I am also annoyed , i woke up to a message saying the system had updated itself the night prior while i was sleeping and i didn't get to choose whether i wanted it or not that is really annoying.

I disabled google framework service to block the message. This will likely affect something else, but nothing Ive noticed so far.

Very odd problem now. The stock Clock app won't open. I get an error,"unfortunately, Clock had stopped".

Can some of you check to see if this is a problem caused by the OTA update?

Interesting. This prevented the download message from appearing yesterday at the time I had chosen to "defer" to, but tonight...even with it being disabled, it started up and sure enough, there was the message. Bah. Thought it was possible to stop the spam without rooting.

Ive had the clock crash on me before. Just clear cache/data and it will fix itself

Thanks, i actually did that last night and it did solve the problem. A little troublesome that an app that simple would crash. It's the simplicity of it that makes it so handy.

Yeah thankfully, the fix is simple. It's just a bit offsetting that there's a chance the clock app could crash as I use this to wake me up for work. I guess that's why its good to have an actual clock as a backup

I, too, ended up not having a choice about accepting the update. I had my phone on my nightstand while I was watching tv with my wife. Went to bed and saw the update message, with about 30 seconds to decide to defer or hit okay before it installed. While I was debating and seeing if I could pull up the update description on my Xoom, the install started.

I haven't noticed any issues, but also no improvements yet. Tomorrow I can try S Beam again; when my brother-in-law tried it with his S3 and mine, it wouldn't work. Maybe the update fixed whatever was going on so it'll now work. (Not that it's a big deal anyway, since he and his wife are the only ones I can use it with, lol.)

I got the update notice but it always fails with error 402 .
Stock s3 on vzw.
Anybody have idea how to make it work? If I run the update check I always get the download but at the android guy half way through the update i get the exclamation point. Error 402 .

I'm in the same boat. It really only bothers me because of Jelly Bean. 6 months down the road when vzw decides that we are worthy, I want it to work.

I called Verizon. They called Samsung. Factory reset is the only way. They don't know what the errors code is.
