droid1234

Newbie
Ok coming from the droid and i always wondered how do i get all the stuff that is pre installed deleted. i have numerous things i want gone. i have noticed on this x that it seems there is so much running. I have stopped it and somehow it seems to want to run again. those are the things i want gone. i will never get any battery life with all this running all the time. there is a news thingy that runs any way to disable this stuff help.........

I think if you want the new feed gone just hold it and drag ot to the trash can or use settings to disable the feeds. Same with facebook or social networking widgets.

They are correct. The only way to actually remove those applications from your device is to gain root access and either actually delete them, (not recommended) or to simply rename their file extensions to .bak instead of .apk, (essentially backing them up in case you need them again for any reason).

Like others have said, root is the only way. Also, read up a little on Android. From what I understand and my experience these things don't run your battery down and turning off apps and using task killers is not required. Just because an app is showing up as running it isn't really doing anything. Most of them will show background which just means it's still there for quick access but not doing anything. It won't slow your phone down or use anymore battery just because it's there. If the phone needs that memory for something else it will kill the apps it needs to when it needs to.
