Help Just new to a tablet...going mad!

Cello android 4.4 7 inch

My wife bought me one for Xmas and it is driving me mad. I use a desktop and this will only be used on hols (makes sense) but I am just having problem after problem, but hey I can now turn it on & off so progress.
However when i connect a memory stick although I can find it I cannot find a way to access it (open it)

Anyone know how? I have gone through the manual and also googled it to no avail.
 
Try installing a file explorer and the contents of the stick should show up there.

I seem to recall Astro being able to view stuff on my USB stick so you could give that a go.
 
I contacted the manufacturer and they reckon a software issue and are replacing it. So will see what happens with the new one.
