But really, congrats, I LOVE this phone, the screen is so much better than the Galaxy Nexus, I had a huge step up from that phone, IMHO.
 
is the camera on par with note 2 or GS3? as ive read?

The camera on the Nexus 4 is better than the Gnex no doubt. It's "comparable" to the GS3 and Note 2 in the sense that the Nexus 4's camera isn't quite as good, but it's by no means bad. If you factor in the cutting edge hardware underneath the hood and the pure Android experience the Nexus 4 is a beast.
