Thanks for the detailed instructions. Two problems: 1) I can't root my phone unless/until I decide to keep it; and 2) I have a Mac, not a PC.

I have about 2 weeks left on my 30 days. I'm sure there is an SDK program out there for a Mac. So if I keep it, I'll get this done.

You should not have to worry about rooting your phone. The rooting program that works on Zios is very simple and gives you the option to only "software root" which allows you to have it rooted until you restart the phone and then it is back to its unrooted state.
