just realized something...

getting a SEUS error...

i think i should just repair it using pc companion? sound right thing to do? start fresh on 2.1?

Honestly if I were you, I would use the xda flash tool to do this. My phone was a bag of crap on 1.6. It would shutdown randomly, lock up, send text messages by itself. both pc companion and seus would lock up or fail on both repair and update. The problem with pc comp and seus wasn't the phone it was my laptop os. So I used the flash tool from xda. I instantly went from a bag of crap phone to a fully usable, 2.1 rom dual touch without any rogers crap. I rooted, cleaned and installed JIT to the phone in like 3 button clicks. My phone is clean, fast, usable and stable. It took about 20mins and I am a complete numpty when it comes to stuff like this. If I could read German I would throw that guy bin4ry at XDA 50 bucks for saving my phone and my sanity.

awesome. sounds good..

could you give me some links for all this please and some simple step by steps? sounds too good to be true lol

Follow the link,
I am kind of assuming you are north american and using the x10a

THe post is a repost from the xda developers. So credit where credit is due.

But basically you follow the "easy way" steps. The only thing I found confusing in his post is what to download.

First download the flashtool, which is linked just under the "Index"
Flashtool from HERE
Then download the ftf file for the x10 that is linked just after the line..
"ADDED: X10a _2_1_A_0_435 with DualTouch already in for ALL apps"
Ignore step 8, about multi touch, it comes with the ftf file.

Now you should be good to go. Read the original posts about rooting, cleaning, JiT and decide if you want them. I didn't use their cleaning device, I used TI Backup Root Pro to simply freeze the programs, which is similar to uninstalling them, but you can decide what you want to do.

My advice is spend an evening reading the threads on XDA and get comfortable with what you will see. Then go ahead and double check everything, it really is silly easy once you get into it.
