The screen protector is separate its not attached to the case, So you can put it on if you like or leave it off. ( i didn't use mine but i did install it just to check how the Spen worked with it on and it worked fine ) then i just took it off.
It add a little bulk to the phone, Makes it a litte more hefty but then again i like this.. Phones that are way to slim and light i feel uncomfortable holding. I love my Note 2 but as slim and smooth as it is, I needed a case ASAP.. Something that added a little thickness to it so it didnt feel so fragile in my hands.
The poly-carbonate is very smooth.. Now this can be a Pro or Con to some. One thing i notice is they added these textured lines going all across the back..rather then having a all smooth back surface. The textured lines are raised a little to add a little grip when holding the phone. The raised lines are still the same smooth poly-carbonate so it slips in and out of pockets very smooth.
My cheap Amazon case i bought to hold me over till the Otterbox arrived has a matte finish and feel to it, which grips better and is not as smooth as the Otterbox but the matte would attract all types of things. With the raised textured lines on the Otterbox is grips in the hand well. Not as well as the matte finish case i had but as i said, It can be a Pro or Con to some.
