Root Just rooted succesfully but cannot download apps or get droid market to work

jenious

Lurker
So just did a root using the stickied root method at the top of this forum and so far the battery life is great and its a lot more stable than stock.

My problem is that when I rooted I lost all of my apps like navigation, yahoo mail, angry birds.. probably like 15 free apps none paid.

I try to go to the market through the browser and download those apps but it says that they are already installed so it doesn't let me download/install them.

I tried downloading some new apps that I didn't used to have and it shows that I can download them.. but I click on it and nothing happens. Then after clicking download and nothing happening they are listed as installed.

Did you just root or did you flash a recovery and ROM?

Rooting shouldn't affect the apps you have installed.

A stock rooted rom won't increase battery or stability. Its only if you got a custom rom running on android 2.3 or if possible 4.0. I think you installed a rom :/.

I have the same problem as jenious. I flashed a new rom using clockworkmod (bobzhome) and it works great. The only problem is, I can't figure out how to install google apps. I can't install clockworkmod from the market because google says it is already installed. any ideas? Thanks!

Sorry I forgot to mention that I did the new rom as mentiooned in the stickied rooting guide on this forum. So yea its been rooted, formated and then a new rom installed. It says IHO now when I restart it.

I know the next step after installing the new rom is to flash gapps, but I can't get clockworkmod and if I try to reboot holding power, home, vol down, I just get a black screen. Not sure how to flash gapps to my phone

I think I might have missed the gapps step.

Can I just pop it on the sd card and use a rom manger tool to install it?

Okay so got back into clockwork mod and have attempted to install gapps.. hopefully this is all that I need to do..

I think I figured it out. I went to clockworkmod website and downloaded the rom manager and reinstalled it. trying to flash with gapps, still waiting for phone to finish.
