I have a vb net 2008 PC 32 bit program that is an appointment book. Since it's PC based it's limited somewhat. My users are constantly asking me if I have a mobile version so they can use it on their kindle or other tablet. They really want to be able to have appointment reminders sent and to be able to syncronize their kindle or other android device with their PC based program.

Most programs that offer android apps seem to be online cloud or web based appointment booking programs. I can see how easy it would be to syncronize with that but I don't have an online system. Right now I can only tell them to
use a third party remote access program and leave their PC on so they can access their programs through any android device.

So I guess my question is do I need to be web or cloud based to do this at all?

First off, I am no programmer at all, but I do have a suggestion. If you could find a way to sync their appointments to a Google gmail account, they could easily sync appointments to their mobile devices. Gmail accounts are free, so if you could find a way to move the original schedule to individual gmail accounts, you'd have your solution.

Just a suggestion,
