Root Just want to update htc one m8

Hi guys im a total noob who rooted his phone (which took about 4 hours btw) a while back so i can not remember anything so if you help please do it in simple terms please lol

Ok so i have a htc one m8 , fastboot on my computer and i have found out that the cidnum is VODAP001 and the version_main is 3.29.161.9, other than that i aint a clue what to do next to to put the stock recovery on so i can update my phone so i can then re-root,

Do i need a specific recovery version? if so can you point me in the right direction? and once i installed the stock recovery can i just go to software update on my phone to update it

I have tryed to look it all up but it's just foreign to me

I'm pretty sure you have to unroot before switching recoveries as well (which I think you can do through SuperSU), but I've been on Viper for so long that my knowledge of the process is really hazy at this point.

I don't -think- you need a specific recovery; I feel like that sort of thing was only necessary if you were going to pick things up from an RUU, but hopefully you won't need to go that far.
