k-9 email Outgoing Server error

D_Stevens

Lurker
I have a Droid X. I am(or was) using K-9 email to get email from my corporate email via POP3. Up until last week everything was fine. Now when I receive and email I cannot reply or forward. I get an error "Failed to send some messages" "SMTP response is 0 length". I have double and triple check the outgoing server settings and bounced between SSL and TLS when available and always etc.. I have talked to my tech support folks and my settings are correct.

Can anyone help?

I'm having a similar problem. I can not forward any emails from 2 separate accounts. Very frustrating.... I will continue to visit this post in hopes of a solution, as well as update if I find anything out on my end...

Thanks

Most ISP's block port 25 (SMTP outbound mail) to everything except their own server. This happens to most people over wireless connections. I don't know that phone carriers are doing that much yet.

If you have control over the mail server, you can always open up a second port (like 81 or something odd) that the mail server runs on in addition to the normal port 25.

If you don't have control over the mail server, call your isp / carrier and see what they suggest...?

I had the same error - cannot fond a solution except uninstall the app and go back to resident android client.
