K7 with Google Cardboard.

I recently bought my son a set of VR goggles. Unfortunately I have discovered that the LG K7 is not supported by Google Cardboard. I have found several other apps in the appstore, but so far they seem to need to have Cardboard installed already.
Any help on knowledge of an app that is compatible.

The phone is up to date as of midnight last night and we have Verizon as a carrier.

I don't think the K7 has a gyro sensor in it. Cardboard VR apps require the device to have a gyro, so they can determine movement and orientation.
