K9 and addresses

Hi, I'm Neil and I live in Deal in Kent, UK. I'm 58 and work as a project manager for a local community organisation. We moved here from Cornwall to be nearer our daughters about 6 months ago.
I've just got my first android phone and have set up K9 as my email client.
Can I sync this with Thunderbird on my notebook so that I can download my email contacts? - there doesn't seem to be a way that is obvious!
Or does this facility simply not exist on mobile devices?

What you ask should be possible. Unfortunately I've never tried this but supposedly there's an app called Funambol which supports both Android and a Mozilla Thunderbird plug-in.

Another way to do this would be to export your contacts from Thunderbird into a comma delimited file and then import the CSV file into your desktop Gmail account.
