K9 emails disappear

New email messages comes in and after a few minutes the messages are gone.
I tried clicking the load more messages and check emails but it doesn't seem to work.
Anyone here know what to do?

1. Make & model of handset

2. Android version.

3. Email provider

4. POP or IMAP

to name but a few.

It's impossible to help with questions like this when the email account type and email app aren't specified. K9's in the subject but you should include the info in the body as well.
