K9 Mail Problems - Please Help!

Hi all, I've been trying to use K-9 mail as I heard it's better than the stock Android app on my Nexus S (and I don't want to use the Gmail app because I hate hate hate conversation view!).

I use Pop with my Google Apps accounts. I know it's old fashioned but I really can't get to grips with IMAP and I just want to get my Pop accounts working perfectly (horrible to say, but like they were on my iPhone).

So, here's what I really want and I would be really grateful if someone could help:

• If my Outlook is OPEN, email comes through to computer and phone.
• If my Outlook is open and I delete the mail from my phone, it doesn't get removed from my Outlook.
• If my Outlook is CLOSED and I receive an email and then delete it on my phone, it won't download on my Outlook.

So say my Outlook is open and the mail goes to both devices, I'm more than happy to have to delete it from both devices...that's just how I've worked for the last 100 years...

I've set up K9 mail for 5 accounts like this but for some reason I just can't get the emails to download on my phone, without manually going in and loading them...despite polling every minute (regardless of whether my Outlook is open or not). I want to be in a situation where I never go into K9 unless I see a notification alert in my bar...or unless I want to Compose of course.

From memory the only way I could get my emails to go to both PC and phone was to set them up using the IMAP settings. Using POP3 settings they would appear on the phone and then magically disappear.
