K9 Question

Hi,
I'm new to K9 Mail and have two questions:

- mails in my input folder have a different backgroundcolor. I' m using
the dark theme, and some backgrounds are black, some are grey.
What does this mean ?

- If I'm reading mails, some buttons are not active, eg the "Spam"-button.
Can I change this ? What is the reason for this ?

Grey emails are longer emails that need to be downloaded to be read in their entirety.
