Keep logs for multiple students

I am a piano teacher and I'm looking for something like this - a lot of teachers could make use of this app.

Top layer is folders eg. I need eight folders named with day (I teach in two schools certain days).

In each folder, a separate file for each student. eg. I need 20+ files per folder. The files named by student name but ordered in the order of timetable (this can be changeable).

In each of these files, date-stamped text log of notes from lessons, with latest update at the top, and (automatically) date-stamps any notes taken.

If there are any suggestions of things that could do this job I'd appreciate. Many thanks
Bob

So it sounds like you want a file-system for notes for students, grouped by day+location then student then timestamp right?

Yeah I think that's it. Is it something obvious I'm overlooking? I kind of looked for note taking apps and also journals, but didn't find anything that'd do the job. The actual entries would just be plain text so all quite simple.

Cheers

should notes be connected to the time slot or the student? could you have one student in multiple time slots?

Hi, the notes should be connected to the student as the student may change their time but I'd still need all the notes for the student together. They could be in multiple times if they came for an extra lesson one week or came at a different time one week. If I could just select their name from a list then I'd order the list in the usual order.

I've actually found this app, which with predicted future updates should do what I want:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.glen.studentlogs&hl=en

(At the moment one can't rename the class, re-order the students, and notes don't order chronologically automatically (if you enter a note with an old date). But these are all things that are planned apparently).

So it looks like I've found it but I'll continue to give info in case of any interest. All I need once have selected the students name is a screen of text with all the previous notes showing so that you can scan through and see what you've been doing in lessons and can prepare for next (shown below). So in that sense I could just use a document in Google Drive, but I was put off by going through the whole process of creating dozens of documents and typing in the date every time etc. I was wondering about a purpose-built app.

Thanks for your comments
Bob
