Keeping the Nexus 5

With the price of the new Nexus 6 being $600 + dollars, I will probably keep my Nexus 5. Lollipop will run just as good of the N5 as well.
The N5 will be strongly supported by the community for at least another year.

I have my personal reasons as well.
I am on the T-mobile pre-paid service and refuse to be on a long term contact. (Verizon ruined that for me with the Galaxy Nexus.)
If the price is between $449 and $549 for the N6 I may bite...

I am in the same boat. Was going to seriously consider the Nexus 6 until I saw the price. My brother just got the One plus One and I have to admit ...that thing is nice, but at 5.5 inches it's pretty big. So a six inch phone would be too big for ME.
 
The size still puts me off the N6 so I plan to stick with the N5 still.

However, when I see new shiny things I sometimes can't resist.
 
i was all for getting the nexus 6, but the price has put me off. The size isn't a problem for me. I've had "phablets" before and got on fine with them.

My nexus 5 has run flawlessly since launch, it's the best smartphone i've ever owned, will be getting Lollipop etc... I just can't logically justify getting the nexus 6 at that price. I understand it's a "phablet" so it's gonna be more expensive, but like the OP said, if it was 449-549 then I would probably bite too.
 
I'm not ruling anything out despite being in love with the N5 nearly a year on.

I can never make a decision on things until I find myself pressing the buy button :D

Lollipop on the N5 will be great from what I've seen in the developer preview. I'm really looking forward to seeing it on my Nexus 10 too.
 
I recently went from a Galaxy Nexus to the Nexus 5 and am really pleased with it. Buying it pre-owned it was always going to be cheaper than the Nexus 6.

I don't have small hands, but I'm not a fan of big phones and the N5 is pretty much the size limit for me personally, so I'm looking forward to getting Lollipop on the N5 now and am not regretting my purchase so close to the N6 announcement.
 
I jumped ship a couple of weeks ago as a 6" screen is too big for me.I went for the moto X pure and it's not much different to my old N5 except I get better signal and the camera appears to be better,not taken many photo's yet though.
 
I'm in a bind - I need a second phone. I could buy a second N5, but I suspect I'll keep beating myself up about not getting the latest and greatest...

I had concerns with the size of the device, but was willing to compromise on that, but with the price being double that of the N5, I'm not sure I want to compromise on both (cost and size)... I have another week or so to decide... ugh.
 
Just to add to my post, I would pay the $650 for the N6 if it was a 64 bit cpu. Motorola will probably release a 64 bit 5+ inch sometime in the Q1.
So the N6 is a gamble right now.

Does anyone remember the Bionic? LOL
 
I believe in paying at least a somewhat fair price for what you get, while taking into account that enthusiast level products can cost a premium. That aside, prices in these kinds of ranges are largely irrelevant to me.

Given that, I'll still be sticking with my Nexus 5s. The older white one is going to my wife once I get it replaced under its insurance plan, and I'll use my new black 32GB one that I got a couple weeks ago.

A 6 inch phone is a little too large for me, and my Nexus 5 works so well that there's no need to replace it. I have it rooted and set up the way I want (still getting OTA updates too), and there isn't anything out that it can't handle. In a way I'm kind of disappointed, because I want to support the continuation of the Nexus line of products. Might be in the tablet market again before too long though. We'll see.

Long story short: The Nexus 6 is a pass for me and I'll be sticking with my new Nexus 5 for this generation.

I heard through the grapevine that they stopped manufacturing them about a month ago, or so. I think on one of the Linus Tech Tips shows on YouTube that mentioned it. Not sure though, of course.

I can see why they might want to continue making and selling them, if there's still enough demand.
 
I think I'll keep my Nexus 5,i may be tempted by the new LG watch when it comes out though
 
I'll be keeping my Nexus 5 for this year. It's still an amazing phone, fast and powerful. It's going to get Lollipop too. What else could I ask for?

The Nexus 6 is beautiful but I'm not really into spending that much right now.
