Keeping the screen on while music is playing?

Just wondering how to do that, without just disabling the time out option on the screen. This way I dont have to turn the screen back on after every song ends if I want to advance tracks. I mean, when the phone is playing a video it doesnt turn off the screen after X amount of time you put in the settings. This is on the Note 2 btw.

You could use Tasker to extend the screen timeout when your music player is running. I do this with Maps: when Maps is running I have Tasker set the screen timeout to 23 hours (effectively disabling it), with an "exit task" to reset it to 1 minute when I leave Maps. The same could be done with a music player as well.

Just don't put it in your pocket without turning the screen off manually, or you'll be skipping tracks all over the place ;)

You mean using the default music player? I use PowerAmp and in the settings there is a "keep screen on while playing" option.

If you are using the default music player, you can use Tasker as Hadron suggested. A free alternative is Llama. Just set the phone to turn off screen timeout when music player is in foreground, then revert it to say, 30secs when music player is off or in background.

If you dont mind keeping charger in. Goto settings, developers and check this
