Root Keeping up to date

Hello, I just bought this phone today and tried both Z4Root and Gingerbreak to root and neither worked for me, is it possible to get get an e-mail update when a way to root this device is found? The first think i like to do to my phone is change the bootstrap sound and image and not being able to makes me sad :(

While i am here and posting my first post, thanks for all your hard work keeping us up to date, this site has been vital to customizing all my previous phones.

Yup is there any cuz i would like to develop to Just gonna learn By the most Pro at it Playfulgod Then when am done learnin if there isnt any developers i would make roms and maybe Root acces Hey Is there anyone makin root for these phone yet i would like to Kno

I read somewhere that this phone is very similar to the Ascend II. Maybe the exploit for the Ascend II will work with the Activa.

Hey guys have u tried superone click yet?? I think that will work srry just tryin to get root already to develop
 
I have personally tried every version of z4root Super One Click Gingerbreak Froot & Neuer Ordner nothing worked for me but if you find that something has worked for you please come back to the forum and share what you did because at this point I am frustrated.

Is it possible to take the su and busybox files from the huawei ascend II root and push them to the phone using the adb command?

Testing will proceed :D Btw Max I finally got some of the files for you. the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk. Ive been playing a lot with adb and hopefully maybe with the help of others we can root this phone ^_^ Then.... the possibilities are endless :D

Cool Wen U Gonna Send them i got my android development enviroment ready wen u have time pm me and ill tell u what to do ;)
 
Rooting this phone isnt something hard. I didn't make the zip file All credit goes to Vadim for actually doing that. I took the update.zip file from the root method of the Huawei Ascend II and flashed it onto my Activa using adb.

Before starting make sure that you have the Android sdk installed on your computer. (I recommend installing it to the root directory of your hard drive)

Also install the USB Drivers by auto running the program when you plug in your phone via usb.
Make sure your phone has USB Debugging enabled

And now the process:
1.Download the update.zip via download link below.

2.Copy the download to the root of your phones SD Card

3.Hop on over to command prompt and go into the platform-tools directory of the SDK 'cd \whatever.path.to.sdk\Android\platform-tools'

4.Run 'adb devices' and make sure your device is there, it should say M920

5. If its there then reboot with recovery. 'adb reboot recovery'

6. Once booted into recovery then use the volume up and down buttons to scroll up and down and to select press camera button and then press power button. (Not at the same time :P)

7. Choose update from SD Card.

8. Choose the update.zip from the root of your drive.

9. After its done then reboot your phone and its rooted :D
