This started midday today and hasn't stopped since, most of the time it doesn't even finish starting up when it decides to restart again. Every now and then it'll stay on but it's only happened about 4 times and it lasts about a minute. I'm hesitant to do anything drastic since I just got back from a trip around South America with a friend and pretty much all my pictures are on it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Oh dear, sounds like you have one of the devices prone to bootloops. A lot of devices that were made September or prior have been having these issues, problem with motherboard. Haven't seen official announcement from LG but check out here. Been mentioned over XDA too. Check your build date, if it is one of these they should replace under warranty, might be difficult if you have unlocked bootloader though. I don't know where we stand in that case.
