I was wondering what are the best kernals for this phone... I am new to all this and actually someone gave me this phone with stock root 4.2... I just don't want to screw it up.

Thanxs... have been reading more into everything and I have seen that there wasnt... Since the phone is rooted I am on straighttalk service, it was tmobile originally.. I am stuck on the tmobile towers or however u say that I get no service hardly anywhere it sucks!! Anyway to make it completely straighttalk like I thought it qould be?..

Straighttalk doesn't have any towers of their own, if that's what you're asking.

Yeah, Straighttalk is an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that uses the equipment of the main service providers. The Galaxy Light is a GSM only phone, so maybe you could switch to AT&T's equipment. AT&T's network is more expansive than T-Mobile's in most regions.

Yea ik bout the tower thing I have had straight talk for years now... apparently theres just no unlocking off the tmobile network yet even when the phone is rooted and its been switched... From my understanding anyway..

Maybe true for StraightTalk, but I got unlocked for TM and came right up on cricket.
