Root Kernel problems CM10.1

Any time I change the cpu or gpu setting in kernel tuner, they won't stick. I set the maximum cpu speed to 1026MHz but it will randomly change back to 1512MHz. It also seems to make the battery die faster because I had it at 100 percent charge and airplane mode on and just listening to music for about 30min. on the bus through headphones made it go down to 50 percent. These problems happen on the stock kernel and on team dirt's aosp kernel as well. Is there a fix for this or something I can do to at least make the cpu settings stick?
Also I am on Dastin's latest wild for the night CM10.1 ROM.
