kernel & Rom recommendation for native Cifs support

Hi everyone,

I have been experimenting with various roms on my S2 trying to access my windows server using cifsmanager but failing miserably.
I have managed it with es file explorer however but I would really like to use cifsmanager.

I think the problem is that I dont have the correct modules compiled and loaded for cifs support, however I dont know how to compile them (although I believe I know how to load them with adb shell)

Can anyone help me? I either need help compiling these modules or better still a recommendation of a rom & kernel combination that will allow me to use cifsmanager to access a windows share without any extra config

Thank you for any help

Thank you, I have flashed the kernel so I am now running cognition Rom and Ninphetamine 2.02 Kernel and the same thing occurs in cifsmanager :(

If i open up cifsmanager and click "about" then "modules" the cifs module is not listed and I presume it should be?

Thanks :)

Woohoo!!!! I got it

The path in cifsmanager has to be set to:

/lib/modules/cifs.ko

and NOT /system/lib/modules/cifs.ko

Thank you for all the help you are my hero :-)

and just an FYI... I can now see the cifs module loaded in about -> modules

happy happy happy! ... :o)
