Kernel Version

I always go to xda for any custom roms and kernels. But it does not look like they have an actual forum for your device. Somebody was able to port the Lineage rom over, but that is all I can find.

No dev community=no fun rooting

The issue being upgrading the kernel is done by Android developers, all those who are crafting ROMs and such are further down the chain of succession. And not be smug or dismissive in any way but if you're asking for a source (bad pun intended) for a kernel, the odds are pretty good your skill level isn't going to high enough to manually upgrade/downgrade/replace the kernel in your Homtom.

What is the procedure for finding custom kernel for certain device in this case my homtom ht16?
 
Just to clarify, do you actually intend on changing the kernel on your Homtom or do you just want to look into flashing a custom ROM?

Just note that there is no 'custom' kernel and no, you cannot manually replace the Linux kernel used in Android. There are however, stock and custom ROMs, the issue being every Android ROM has a Linux kernel inside it. You can change ROMs but you cannot just switch kernels. Perhaps you're mistakenly assuming changing the kernel in Android is as mainstream as with a typical Linux desktop distro but that's not the case.
If you've been having problems searching for info on upgrading/changing the OS on your Homtom, it's probably because you've been searching for the wrong thing. Again, give up trying to install a 'custom kernel' on your Homtom, you need to instead focus on custom ROMs.

I already tried to install a bunch of other roms and only stock seems to be working fine,i am asking for custom kernel because i know there are kernels like linaro kernel,elemental x kernel etc.
