Keyboard and remote operation

I thought it was smart to install Splashtop and control my PC from my tablet... fine, it connects quickly and is very responsive except for one MAJOR issue: how can I type into fields such as the URL address bar on the browsers? If I'm using a browser on my tablet, tapping into the field opens the keyboard. But using it remotely, it does nothing.

Is there a way to use my tablet keyboard when I'm using my PC remotely?? If not, it seems pretty UNuseful.

Thanks.

Are you trying to access your PC via the tablet's browser? I don't understand what you trying to get at? You have to install the Splashtop HD app on your tablet, install the Splashtop Streamer software on your Windows PC and then connect through the app on your tablet. It works perfect and is the best solution I have tried (and the cheapest). I used LogmeIn and others but Splashtop is the fastest and simplest method I have come across. Until you explain more precisely what your problem is, we can't help. In any event, it all works - it's just a matter of setting it up correctly. Finally, here is a useful link to the Splashtop website which takes you through a very simply schematic setup procedure and if you follow it your remote control access of your PC will work http://support-remote.splashtop.com/home
This is all it will do. If it is anything else you want from the setup then you have the wrong software/app.

Yes, as I said, I have no problem with the connection. It works perfectly. The problem is that if I want to use my PC browser via access from my tablet, the tablet keyboard is unavailable. For example, on my tablet browser when I tap in a field that requires typing, the keyboard pops up automatically. When I tap on the same field as it's accessed via Splashtop, no keyboard appears.

I'm just asking if there is some setting or some button to push to make my tablet keyboard appear when I'm using Splashtop. Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

Update: Thanks for the link. I found the keyboard icon (tiny and at the very bottom of my screen) so it's all working fine now.

Ah, see what you mean now. I use an Asus Transformer Pad, which has a separate keypoard dock. I removed that and connected to my PC via Splashtop. Once connected to your PC desktop you should find a tiny keyboard icon in the very bottom right-hand corner of your display (roughly where your date and time is displayed on your Windows desktop). Click on this and your tablets keyboard will pop-up.

I was using it outside on the deck, in the sun, so the tiny keyboard icon didn't show up very well. Erm.... that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it! :)
