keyboard battery and charging

I just recieved my dock and i have a question...if tab is connected to dock and i turn tab off is the dock still on...i dont see a off switch and no directions. i don't want it to drain if im not using it. i did a search for aswer and didn't find. maybe wording question wrong.

As fas as I can tell, the dock only sends power to the tab when the tab asks for it, so if the pad is off, so is the KB.

But if you leave the tablet off it will still slowly lose battery charge- whether it's docked on the keyboard or not. But when it's docked it WILL slowly drain the keyboard.

Usually not a big deal, but if you leave the tablet off a day or two it can drain 20% of the dock, on mine at least. So if I turn the tablet off, I undock it.
