Help Keyboard Calibration

Any tips on keyboard or screen calibration on this device? My son is telling me he's having trouble with the "d" not registering. Seems to be just that letter.

Stock phone using the Samsung Keyboard. No alternative keyboard installed. He can Swype a d, but can't type it.

I don't have your phone and I don't know if it will help anything, but try settings > applications >all. Scroll down, look and see if there is a 'Samsung Keyboard'. Tap it and select Clear data (and cache if it has anything). See if that helps. I'd recommend a keyboard like Swiftkey 3.
