Keyboard /docking station is awesome!

If there is anyone sitting on the fence about getting one of these, just buy it! I've had mine a little less than a week and can't imagine going back to not having it. Most of my internet browsing involve me typing, so this is a lifesaver. I had considered selling my tablet and just buying a new laptop, but now I don't want to give it up. I love the added ports, the extra battery life (especially that the keyboard battery is the first to drain) and the screen protection. Just look for a good deal online or a coupon for BB that has been floating around to get the price down.

Downside is it doesn't come with it's own charger and typing is a little cramped. Also, some built in speakers would have been awesome, since ours pretty much suck.

I agree. I love the keyboard dock. Love the additional ports. To me, this accessory was and remains a game changer among all the tabs out there - including the "almighty Ipad2." The chiclet style keys make this keyboard really easy to type on. Asus put some thought into this keyboard design - especially with the Android keys and numbers row thoughtfully included. Love the extra battery in this keyboard that extends battery life and is designed to keep the tablet charged while it depletes. I also really love how the dock keeps my tab at a perfect angle for viewing or typing.

I think this keyboard dock was definitely worth the $149 I paid. What I regret is spending $39 on that is that lint-loving, half-baked, flimsy so-called tablet cover that is sold by Asus. Now THAT was a waste. If I want my tab propped up, it is just as easy to stick it in the keyboard dock as not.

I also totally agree with you about the speakers. Because so much is right about the Transformer, that the speakers are sooo weak is really annoying! I mean they should come with headphones, because that is the only way to get decent sound out of them. The other thing that bothers me is having a combined mic/headphone port. Having that one port do double duty diminishes the effectiveness for both functions, imo. I think those ports could have been separated, there was certainly enough room on the tab to do that...

Anyway, even with the annoyances, I think this tab is the best tab on the market today and the keyboard dock just really kicks the design into another level.

Thats actually a pretty ingenious idea that would of been great to have 2 extra speakers in the keyboard. Stereo sound and extra power. Oh man, I wonder if anyone would ever make their own keyboard and have that as an option.

Besides speakers I'm a tiny bit peeved you can't see the keyboard in the dark.

A full lightup keyboard is probably expensive to manufacture- how about an LED in the tablet pointed down at the keyboard? (which could be turned on/off of course.)

That might be more easily done as an accessory like a book light since the led would have to be able to rotate as the tablet rotated.
