Help Keyboard freezing while texting

Did a search and only found one thread and it went unanswered, so assuming I just got a bum phone?

Had the Dinc2 for a couple weeks now. Everything is great aside from the keyboard freezing up on me while texting, emailing, etc. Seems to only happen when the keyboard is in landscape.

Say I am typing a message and it *** locks up here and won't let me continue. Unresponsive keyboard, no key works. Sometimes it lasts for a 5 seconds and sometimes it completely freezes and I have to exit out and use voice or flip the keyboard to portrait.

Anyone heard of this? A setting maybe??? Hate having to return phones.

Try a battery pull first. Then try clearing data and cache in the keyboard application. These are things that have worked for me in the few instances I've had freezing issues.
 
I had it happening to me only while texting, I tried many things and found it was the stock text app, I switched to handcent and haven't had an issue since.
 
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Battery pull didn't work. Downloaded the gingerbread 2.3 keyboard and handcent - so far its working much better. A couple freezes, but better than before. We'll see..........
 
Was still having the issue with gingerbread and everything I did above. Finally did the factory reset last night. Was a lot less painful than I was expecting.....and definitely did the trick.
 
A soft reset(battery pull) fixed the issue on HTC Inspire for one customer. remember to keep the battery out for a full 60 seconds
